This was a project in my programming class where we were tasked with building a robot to pop balloons in a “battle bot” style fight.
I used omnidirectional wheels on an aluminum chassis, with 80/20 extrusions to cover my carrier balloon (we were only allowed to cover 25% of the bot).
Finally, I made an X bracket with holes in each end to attach 6 1/2 in circular saw blades for the weapon. I sadly was not allowed to motorize the weapon; however, I programmed a command into the controller to spin the entire robot.
I was in 4th place and squeaked into the final round, where I was able to do very well and finished 2nd in points after a stalemate due to the time limit.
